Overview

2×2 DOCSIS 3.1 & 32×8 DOCSIS 3.0

The Arris CM8200 is a DOCSIS 3.1 layer-2 cable modem approved by several ISPs and widely distributed in Australia for HFC (hybrid fibre coaxial) implementations of the National Broadband Network (NBN). Two revisions exist, A and B. Apparently the CM8200 is functionally identical to the SB8200.[1] It has one coaxial F connector for connection to a cable network (supports 5—204 MHz upstream; 108—1002 MHz downstream), and two RJ45 ports which are implemented differently depending on the vendor.

NBN features

  • On NBN units, the RJ45 ports are labelled UNI-D1 and UNI-D2, and normally on UNI-D1 is used[2]
  • The web GUI is inaccessible after the configuration is loaded[3][4]

Variants

  • CM8200A: NA DOCSIS, PN 1000336
  • CM8200B: EURO DOCSIS, PN 1000225
