Overview

OEM Gemtek (model WAPM-132B v01 [WAPM-132B_V01, 190-C02-6601]), designed by Top Global

This device is meant to serve as a mobile 3G (expansion through the sole CardBus slot) hotspot.

The FCC ID on this unit points to an Lucent HERMES I based (Ruby radio) card.

The device actually used in the unit (some units?) is an Intersil PRISM 3 (Gemtek WMII-106B) card.

The Mini PCI card is also soldered to the Mini PCI retaining clips.

Barrel ID/OD/Len measurements not exact.

Hardware

The CPU (Freescale Semiconductor MPC8245) is apparently PowerPC based.

The device has a Texas Instruments PCI1410 (PCI1410APGE) CardBus controller for the single
CardBus slot and a National Semiconductor DP83816 (DP83816AVNG) for the single Ethernet port.

The unit appears near identical (in casing, board style, component usage + placement, default
credentials, and unit assembly) to the Lucent / Agere / Proxim AP-1000/AP-2000 access points.

Per the Top Global company overview, "the core management and R&D team of Top Global
have many years of professional working experiences in AT&T, Lucent, Agere, Huawei, and Cisco".

Default SSID

The default SSID is Topglobal- followed by the last 5 digits of the serial number.
