Overview

The device is known under at least two different monikers.

The device with FCC ID IMK-AP5 (shared by the 8469 and 8570) looks slightly different.

They can operate on 10-26VDC (or, at very least, the 8450CN is labeled as such). The included power supply is 12V. The devices are PoE capable using Proxim's proprietary PoE system (Harmony Power System, 24V).

The telnet password is notbrando.

The card used with this access point has PCI ID 168c:0007 (1b47:0100). It also has rectangular shaped Radiall UMP2.0 snap-on plug connectors.

See http://pupa.da.ru/proxim/ !! (as of 10/17/2011, site is down, consult archive.org)

According the manual, the default SSID is default.

The 8450CN can apparently operate on channels 34 and 36 only. The 8571 can (according to SoCalFreenet.org) operate on channels 56, 60, and 64 only.
