Overview

Not much is currently known about the QCA9986 radio or the QCN5502 CPU in this device. It is possible that the QCN5502 is serving the 5GHz an+ac while the QCA9986 provides 2.4GHz bgn. The Skyworks FEMs appear to be a SKY85773-11 model but no such model is mentioned on the Skyworks website. The FEMs are clearly connected to the QCA9986 radio.

Test Report documents suggest that this device actually supports 600Mbps 2.4GHz 802.11n with 64-QAM and 1733Mbps 5GHz 802.11ac which would mean that it supports four spatial streams in both radios and could be considered an AC2300-class device. Internal photos show only three spatial streams implemented for the 5GHz radio with an unpopulated spot for a fourth 5GHz FEM. The 2.4GHz circuits are tougher to trace but also appear to only implement three spatial streams with unpopulated spots for a fourth. This suggests that the design is shared with another four-stream model.

The firmware provided for download suggests that this device is related to the four-stream Netgear EX7300v2:
