Overview

The default SSID appears (per the label) to be ARRIS-XXXX where XXXX appears to be a the last two octets of the wireless interface MAC + 2 (w/ upper case letters).

It can probably be safely assumed that this device uses an all-Broadcom chipset.

Unlocking Settings

This modem/router combo typically ships as a rental from an ISP with a locked down version of the firmware that is intended to prohibit the changing of certain settings such as SSID, the "Pre-Shared Key", Channel, Security Mode, among others.
The firmware restrictions, however, are easily bypassed. The HTML output of the router's administration panel is the only thing changed; the internals are untouched.
By using Google Chrome and the "Inspect Element" tool, one can remove the "disabled" attributes from the grayed-out fields and the style="display:none;" from the "Apply" button.
Because none of the internals of the firmware were modified, the firmware will process the html input from this newly unlocked form just as if the form was never locked in the first place.
If Suddenlink is your ISP, try the login "mso" and the password "suddenlink."
